Title: Abolishing Our Boasting
Text: 1 Corinthians 1:26–31
Main Idea: God removes every human reason for boasting so that our only boast is in Jesus Christ.
- Remember what you were when God called you
Not many were wise, powerful, or of noble birth.
Salvation did not come because of human merit, status, or ability. - God chose what the world considers weak
God uses the foolish, weak, lowly, and despised to shame the wise and strong.
He works this way so no one can boast before Him. - Human boasting has no value before God
Worldly success, wisdom, influence, and background cannot save.
Grace alone leaves no room for pride. - Christ is our only boast
Jesus is our wisdom, righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
Everything we have is found in Him.
Application:
- Do not place confidence in your accomplishments, background, or abilities.
- Remember that salvation is entirely by God’s grace.
- Let the church be marked by humility, unity, and gratitude.
- Boast only in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Conclusion: God has abolished all human boasting. Therefore, let us find our identity, hope, and confidence in Christ alone.
